1 year already! I honestly do not know where the time has gone or what we have done over the past year. Miki and I often sit and wonder what we did before Avery was here. She is such a joy to us and we are blessed each day to have such a happy and healthy girl.
We started her birthday off with french toast and oranges (one of her favorite breakfasts), then our usual morning play (and coffee) in the toy room. She managed to still get two solid naps during the day. We went for lunch with Grandpa Z and Kay, had another nap, then woke up to a house full of people for her party. We had ham (her favorite) for supper and a great visit with friends and family. She really did love her birthday. Thanks to everyone for making the trip to Calgary on a weekday and all the great gifts. Special thanks to Stac, Nathan, Matthew, and Lucas (better known on this blog as the Triplets) who drove for hours to get here but unfortunatley could not stay cause the boys got sick on the way. Stac you are a tropper!
As you know Avery's favorite is Eeyore. She does everything with Eeyore. So it was only fitting that we make an eeyore cake for her birthday. Well we search for an Eeyore cake mold but had no luck. So we had to do it ourselves. I made the cake and icing and Miki did the rest. He spent all day cutting, piecing, and icing this cake. Nice work Dad, it looks great!
